Finger-style Guitar Workshop with Bill Adams

Join us Saturday, April 9 from 3-5pm for a finger-style guitar workshop with Bill Adams.

Chet Atkins Gibson Guitar The workshop offers an introduction to finger or thumb-style guitar playing in the manner of Chet Atkins and Merle Travis, geared towards both acoustic and electric, in a variety of styles including folk, pop, and classic guitar instrumentals. An overview of the history of styles and selected players will be demonstrated, as well as some beginning picking exercises with hands-on practice.

Participants should have a working knowledge of basic chord formations for the first three frets of the instrument. Some new chord formations will also be introduced.

Instructor Bill Adams has been playing guitar for many years, and his repertoire includes classic country, bluegrass, rock-a-billy, folk, swing, jazz, and some Beatles standards.
