Clay Tile Wall Art

In this Saturday late afternoon class, we will use white earthenware clay to create a 6″x6″ square or circle tile for a wall piece. Our subject will be tree/branches first drawn on paper before transferring onto our tile in the leatherhard stage. We will apply a black slip, trace drawing then use a tool to scratch (sgraffito technique) out design revealing the white clay underneath. Since all of this can be done in one session, I will fire in a kiln – then,  just schedule a pick up time within a week later. No experience required. All materials are provided.
