Fiddle Workshop with Eddie Bond

The Floyd Country Store presents a special fiddle workshop with one of the most respected old-time fiddlers, Eddie Bond! The workshop is from 3 PM – 5 PM on Saturday January 23, 2016. Upstairs at the Floyd Country Store at 206 S. Locust St. in Floyd, VA.

Eddie Bond is one of the most respected old-time fiddlers in the Blue Ridge Mountain region. He grew up in Fries, Virginia, where the fiddle and banjo are still welded in a Virginia dance tradition. Eddie is the fiddler and lead singer in the New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters, and is the winner of many fiddle contests, including the Galax Old Fiddlers’ Convention. Eddie will teach fiddle in the oldtime way, phrase by phrase from Eddie to you! Eddie will teach Roundpeak/Galax style tunes with attention to bowing.
