Whether you’re looking for a short loop or a technical challenge, these nearby trail systems have it all.

Floyd / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA - Floyd, VA

Bring your bike along while camping or stop by for a local ride! Floyd / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA features several miles of trails winding through open fields and shaded woodlands. Trails range from easy to intermediate, making it a great place for all skill levels.

The campground is also home to major cycling events like The Appalachian Journey, Tour de Floyd, and Tour de Dirt


I.C. DeHart Park - Woolwine, VA

I.C. DeHart Park offers one of the best true Piedmont-style riding experiences in the region with over 16 miles of hand-built singletrack, with mostly intermediate trails and some challenging expert sections. The trails are organized into signed loops (White Loop, Blue Loop, etc.), so be sure to check the map and know your bailout points if you’re planning a shorter ride.

Brush Mountain Park - Blacksburg, VA

Brush Mountain Park is home to over 13 miles of trails, and offers space for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The park has connections to the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest and the renowned Poverty Creek Trail System (Pandapas Pond). Pandapas Pond / Poverty Creek Trail System - Blacksburg, VA

Located in the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, Pandapas Pond is a go-to destination for mountain bikers with 17 miles of scenic trails for all skill levels. The Poverty Creek Trail (7+ miles) anchors the system, with spurs that cater to both beginners and advanced riders.

Waid Park - Rocky Mount, VA

Waid Park’s growing trail network of over 15 miles offers something for every rider - technical singletrack, wooden ramps, river crossings, rock gardens, and even a jump line. Beyond biking, the park also features playgrounds, picnic shelters, and plenty of open space. View trail info.


Carvins Cove - Salem, VA

Carvins Cove Natural Reserve is a bucket-list destination for mountain bikers. This 12,700-acre park offers over 60 miles of diverse trails winding through forests, meadows, and along a sparkling 600-acre reservoir. Riders will find everything from fast-flowing singletrack to steep, technical climbs. More info


Explore Park - Roanoke, VA

Explore Park is home to the region’s first stacked loop system, designed by IMBA in 1997 and features 14 miles of trails, including 9 miles of purpose-built singletrack. Trails range from easy to moderately difficult and wind through hardwood forest and along the Roanoke River. Its location right off the Blue Ridge Parkway makes it an easy stop for travelers. Mill Mountain - Roanoke, VA

Mill Mountain offers a mix of advanced-beginner to expert singletrack climbing up to one of Roanoke’s most iconic landmarks, the Roanoke Star. Riders can start with a steep climb on Monument Trail or opt for a rolling ascent via Woodthrush. At the top, you’ll find restrooms, water, and panoramic views of the valley.
