Youth Workshop with Kaia Kater

This is a special workshop for young people with the incredibly talented and dynamic, Kaia Kater. She studied at Davis & Elkins College, was part of their Appalachian Ensemble program and visited the Floyd Country Store as a young musician. She has since then launched a really exciting solo career and has recently released a new record on the Smithsonian Folkways label.
She will be presenting a special workshop featuring Banjo / Fiddle Tunes, Percussive Dance and Body Percussion and she will speak to how these styles and her music education influenced the music she is making now.
The workshop is FREE for young people and will be here at The Floyd Country Store on Saturday, March 9 at 4 PM. The workshop will last about 45 minutes – 1 hour and there will be a little bit of time afterwards to meet Kaia and ask some questions.
