White Top Mountain Band @ Oak Grove Pavilion
June 3, 2017 : 7:00 pm - 9:30 pmFree/Donations welcome
Though WMB performs at festivals around the country, it is also a popular regional square-dance band. In common with Mountain Roads’ other acts, it is a genuinely rural ensemble, not a revival group in the fashion of the New Lost City Ramblers and their many descendents. The creation of influential fiddler and luthier Albert Hash in the 1940s, WMB was founded a decade before urban folk-music enthusiasts “discovered” old-time music.
Oak Grove Pavilion – Summer Concert Series
Since 1994 the Oak Grove Pavilion has been a summer entertainment venue which has hosted a wide variety of family friendly music and drama events. The “season” begins in early June and ends in late August and run most Sat. nights starting at 7pm.
Admission to the events are free but a donation is encouraged at intermission. All donations are collected throughout the summer and then distributed to six non-profit organizations that serve Floyd County.
The Oak Grove Pavilion is all about the Community! Fun for those young and old and funds for organizations that serve the community. The Oak Grove Pavilion is located behind the historic Zion Lutheran Church in a stand of old oaks, so bring your lawn chairs or use chairs under the pavilion or our many picnic tables. Shows go on rain or shine.
