Tick Talks-A Lyme Symposium
May 16, 2015
$35.00In honor of Lyme Awareness Month, the Floyd County Lyme Disease Support Network is offering a full day of education and awareness concerning the growing epidemic of Lyme Disease, and other tick borne diseases, in our community at the Floyd EcoVillage. Packed with information and resources from top notch presenters and experts in the field, Tick Talks is appropriate for those in the health care field including Dr’s, nurses, NP’s, and various other practitioners, as well as Lyme patients, and their loved ones, plus anyone else wanting to become more well informed on this topic. Education is our best defense in preventing, managing, and understanding this often debilitating disease.
The symposium will offer Lyme literate presenters, a Practitioner’s Panel addressing what is current in Lyme treatments and perspectives, and patient’s stories to give an understanding of what Lyme patients face. There will be resources available for participants to take home. Vendors will offer products and services helpful for the healing and recovery journey. A Lyme diet friendly lunch will be available for purchase on site. The day will end with a networking and social time.
With the epidemic of Lyme disease increasing, the need for information and support to be available is paramount. Spring is when ticks are most active, and the rates of Lyme disease increase. By providing pertinent and expansive information, we can help to prevent the spread of this horrible disease.
