The Flying Doves Band was born just recently with Robert McNabb as the singer/song writer. Robert has been playing guitar ever since He left home at 15 with a red/white and blue buck Owens guitar in 1973 and hitch hike to Canada.
Influenced mostly by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Gram Parsons, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and of course Dylan. Pretty much any band in the late sixties early seventies. He played at home for his wife Tracey for 41 years and when Tracey passed through the veil He began to write his latest songs. His songs explore true love, the feelings of loss when His soulmate left ahead of him, the looked for reunion, and the facing of life till then. When playing in the UK He was told he reminded them of Townes. Another friend told him, you are Townes. In many ways Townes and Robert have followed a similar path.
Robert hopes his songs will bring some comfort to those in life facing all sort of challenges. His songs of late have taken on an added message about the times we are in.
