Sourced Press: Nature Writing & Print Workshop
April 6 : 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Free – $50Spring is the ideal season for musing about nature, when the world as e.e. cummings said is “mudlucious”. At the same time, what we see in nature, and how we observe it, often says more about us than the world around us. Join Laura Jones, Kim O’Donnell, and Sarah Piper Yates Pollock for a workshop that will feature freewriting, editing into poetry, and printing a short work at the print shop, reflecting on our own story and the natural world.
Laura Jones has spent her life working in the arts making film and TV, writing fiction and nonfiction, and now playing the bass. She holds an MFA from Northwestern and an MA from NYU, and is currently pursuing her PhD at DePaul. She’s been published in numerous magazines and anthologies, and spent two years teaching writing and other classes at Springhouse.
Kim O’Donnell has been a member of the Springhouse community for nearly a decade, serving as a member of the school’s Board of Trustees and as an occasional course facilitator. She loves writing in community, wandering in the woods and exploring all facets of her creativity.
Cost: $50. (Minimum of three participants.)
