COUNTY ALERT
A State of Emergency has been declared in Floyd County and also State-wide by the Governor. Citizens are encouraged to be weather aware and be prepared with necessary supplies.
Due to the high volume of calls expected in the Dispatch Center this weekend from the impending storm, please limit your calls to 911 to life threatening calls only.
Non-life threatening calls for assistance may be directed to the Dispatch Center at 540/745-9334. Power outage calls should be directed to American Electric Power at 1-800-956-4237. VDoT road condition information can be obtained by calling 511.
If needed, a warming shelter will be set up at a later time if power outages continue for an extended period of time.
Updates will follow as needed. Updates will also be sent by the County’s Everbridge system if needed. Citizens are encouraged to register for this system on the County’s web site at www.floydcova.org
