Self-Care through Mindfulness: A Weekend Retreat

InStill Mindfulness SWVA is a nonprofit committed to instilling mindfulness throughout Southwest Virginia, through education and outreach.
Mindfulness is a scientifically proven method of managing stress while also maximizing one’s efficacy.
On the weekend of March 2 to 4, InStill is holding its first Self-Care through Mindfulness weekend residential retreat, at Alta Mons in Shawsville, building on the themes of its previous self-care daylong retreats, including:
• Finding relief from burnout and fatigue; • Recovering a sense of purpose, vitality and well-being; • Learning how to skillfully handle emotions and thoughts; • Learning to relax and manage stress; and • Developing listening and communication skills.
By integrating mindful awareness practices, fun workshop activities, and social emotional intelligence exercises, retreat leaders Joe Klein, Alan Forrest, and Nenden Stillman will give participants tools to help develop balance and a newfound sense of connection and safety amidst the daily stressors that impact us all.
Scholarships and CEUs are available for this retreat. Registration, which includes meals and accommodation, is only $300 and $150 for students.
