Seed Swap
February 27, 2016 : 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeCome join us for the annual Floyd County Seed Swap!
Each year we kick off the growing season with a get-together to swap seeds and gardening ideas. Invite your friends: everyone is welcome! Share ’em if you got ’em to spare, take ’em if you’ll plant ’em! You get to introduce other gardeners to your favorite varieties and try some new ones at your own garden. There are always pleasant surprises! Veggies, flowers, and herbs, ornamentals- all varieties welcome!
Please bring any seeds that you have to share that are viable. See attached document for seed lifespan chart. Please label all seeds as to source (yourself or a seed company), year saved, variety name, and any other characteristics you’d like to share. Also, there will be some envelopes provided, but bringing your own is strongly encouraged!
This year we’ll start the swap off with an optional pot-luck at noon. Jane Garden will speak about how to start seeds. Veronica Santo will provide free printed information on saving seeds for reliable varieties.
Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 12pm to 3pm in the Community Room of the Jesse Peterman Memorial Library.
Welcoming another year of growing! PM Veronica Santo for questions.
