The “Pink Hair Day Challenge” in Floyd VA

October 17, 2017

Free

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in Floyd we will be wearing “Pink Hair” on Thursday, Oct. 26 …and for the rest of the month if you wish): This Pink Hair Challenge calls for you to either …wear a pink ribbon in your hair… or dye your hair pink, as well as drop off (at the Floyd Center for the Arts) a donation to the Breast Cancer charity of your choice (i.e. On-hand will be articles rating charities, such as Charity Navigator, which rates the “Breast Cancer Research Foundation” with 91.16 points out of 100).

While you’re there to drop off your donation and/or pick up a (pink) “ribbon for your hair,” you are asked to fill out a pink heart-shaped note to hang up at the Center, e.g. “in Honor of Breast Cancer Survivor, ____.”/ “In Memory of ______”). As the sponsor of this “Pink Hair Challenge,” the Floyd Center for the Arts also invites you to tour their 2 new art exhibits (free), and their Gift Shop, 10:00-5:00, Mon.-Sat.
