The Blue Ridge Mountains are full of biodiversity and scenic beauty as well as rich
cultural traditions. Apple Ridge Farm showcases all of this.
On June 11th, 2017 from 2:00-5:00pm, we
will have a community hosted concert of traditional mountain music for the public to enjoy for free!
Our “Mountain Music Down on the Farm” concert will be showcasing three bluegrass bands, plus have an open jam session at the end for musicians to jump in and play bluegrass and traditional music together. We will offer a learning opportunity before the concert begins from noon-2:00pm at our creek and pond where we will do aquatic studies to learn about water quality by catching and studying the plentiful aquatic macrobiotic organisms living there. We will also offer other outdoor events such as guided walks on our 5 miles of hiking trails to explore our rich Appalachian forests. We will have our 60 foot observation tower open for people to see the lovely long mountain vistas into the surrounding Southwest Virginia counties.
