Morgan Wade Band & The Floorboards
July 23, 2016 : 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm
$6 – $8A Saturday night at the Pine Pavilion!
Floydfestivus for the rest of us – a local night of celebration!
Come out and shake a leg before the out of towners start crowding RT. 8, RT. 221, AND the Parkway.
The Floorboards normally tell folks they are an “Appalachian roots rock ensemble hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia” – but in Floyd, they are just your musician friends that would love nothing more than seeing you on the dance floor on a Saturday night.
The band marries rock & roll and country roots with the sights and sounds of southern mountain towns. Jake and Rob shake the leaves from the trees. Chris coaxes stringed cries from the hills and hollers. Matt tells the story.
The Floorboards have quickly become a staple in the roots music scene and are branching out with purpose. The band has shared the stage with old school pioneers and genre shaping newcomers alike. Acts such as Dwight Yoakam, Trampled By Turtles, Yarn, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Laura Reed, Los Colognes, and many more.
“If you’re an alt-country kind of a person, do yourself a favor and check this crew out. Even if you’re not into all of that, I’m betting you’ll turn into a head-bobber even if you don’t start cutting a rug.” – Jeremy Sanchez HomeGrown Music Network
