February 28, 2016 : 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free!Medicinal Herbs Series, Winter 2015
February 28, Floyd Library, 2:00-4:00
Bring your notebooks, your hunger to learn and to share your own knowledge and experience of using medicinal herbs in health and in illness. Floyd’s Wild Edible and Organic Gardening Club has organized a series of skill-share workshops over the winter months in conjunction with the Montgomery-Floyd Library. We will be focusing on medicinal herbs and have invited some local experts to share their knowledge and experience with us.
Each talk will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and will be followed by a pot-luck meal. Please bring your own plates, cups, utensils & good food to share. All talks are free and open to the public.
David Grimsley and Nile Bachmann will be coming from The Blue Ridge Center for Chinese Medicine.
David has been working with herbs for the last 10 years and is excited about the prospects of helping small farms diversify their crops with medicinal herbs and thus create an alternate income from the land.
Nile Bachmann studied Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine in Seattle, Washington. Nile graduated with a Master’s degree from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine in 2012 where he was trained in the many uses of Acupuncture, Herbs, and Tui-Na bodywork in the promotion and maintenance of health. He is also a graduate of the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach and holds a BS in Biology from Virginia Tech
