Live Author Presentation at the Library

On Sunday, Oct. 23, 3:00 p.m., the Author of “An Appalachian Childhood,” Ms. Deany Brady, will be coming from San Jose CA to the Community Room at the Jesse Peterman Library in Floyd to tell us about her newest book, “Higher Than Yonder Mountain,” and the period in her life (after being raised in the deep poverty of the Appalachian Mountains) which included socializing with friends, Ed Sullivan, Frank Sinatra, Milton Berle, the Kennedy’s and others in the high society of New York City. Deany’s presentation will be followed with a “themed” potluck dinner of Appalachian and NYC recipes (or whatever you’d like to bring to share), with iced tea & paper products to be provided.
