Kyser George & Friends

Kyser George, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Mt. Airy, North Carolina, was nine years old when he joined with other area youth musicians to form ShadowGrass. While he held down the upright bass for several years, Kyser transitioned to guitar in 2020. He also served as lead guitarist for The Goodfellers and Dewey and Leslie Brown and the Carolina Gentleman.
Kyser was named the North Carolina State Flatpicking Champion in 2021 and has received awards for his virtuosity on other instruments, including bass, Dobro, and mandolin. Kyser has shared the stage with many great artists over his career including Mountain Heart, Flatt Lonesome, The Infamous Stringdusters, Bryan Sutton, Sierra Hull, Lou Reid, Sammy Shelor, Pat Flynn, East Nash Grass and, at Renewal 2023, Billy Strings. Also in 2023, Kyser, along with ShadowGrass, toured with Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters in support of his River Wild project.
