Introduction to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of awareness. When we are more aware, we tend to be more effective at the things we do, as well as becoming more in touch with who we are and how we treat ourselves. It is common for people who practice mindfulness to become kinder to themselves, and as they do so, to become kinder to those around them too.
InStill Mindfulness SWVA is a Floyd-based nonprofit committed to instilling mindfulness throughout southwest Virginia, with a particular focus on real-world, interrelational mindfulness. The organization teaches mindfulness in public schools and other learning institutions, in businesses, and in regular classes, workshops, and retreats.
On Saturday, September 30, InStill Executive Director Jamie Reygle is conducting a three-hour Introduction to Mindfulness class at Studio 221 in Floyd. The class introduces several mindfulness techniques that can be applied to real world situations, as well as explaining some of the philosophy and concepts of the discipline.
