Handmade Music of Floyd Presentation

The Handmade Music School is offering a free presentation, Handmade Music of Floyd County on September 22nd from 5:00-6:00pm.

Join some of Floyd County’s finest musicians and historians for an in-depth introduction to the culture and music of the Appalachians. Janet Turner, Ivan Sexton, Mac Traynham, Andy Buckman and other community members will share stories, dance and handmade music in an interactive demonstration prior to the Friday Night Jamboree.

Since the 1980’s, The Floyd Country Store has been renowned as a place to experience authentic Appalachian music, and is home to a group of musicians, flatfoot dancers, and cloggers who are carrying on the tradition of their families who’d pass the time playing music and dancing together.
