Green Man Inn Grand Re-Opening  Saturday, August 22nd from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Come see the beautiful renovations and new kitchenette!  Located across from Chic’s Antiques, within convenient walking distance of the stop light, Saturday’s Farmer’s Market and the center of town.  Enter the door prize drawing to have a chance at winning the grand prize of a free nights stay, with runner up prizes of a hand-carved wooden sculpture and “Keeping Floyd Weird” bumper stickers.

The Green Man Inn is a business owned and operated by Patricia Robin Woodruff and Cameron Woodruff.  Started in 2012 with the idea of providing a convenient place for several people to stay and explore all the wonderful aspects of Floyd.

The Green Man Inn is just down from the stop light in Floyd, set back from the road, with beautiful trees out front and off-street parking.  The Woodruff’s have improved the property by adding a wisteria trellis around the door handcrafted by local wood artisan, Chris Deerheart.  The Inn is furnished with lovely antique furniture and patchwork quilts purchased from the local antique stores, Chic’s Antiques and Finders Keepers, as well as displaying local artwork by artisan, Rhonda Withington, as well as art by the owners.  “It’s great that Cameron is a blacksmith and was able to make the toilet paper holder and coat racks,” said Patricia Robin Woodruff.  She went on to say, “Cameron also shaped the earth sculpture of the Green Giant out front.  We wanted to add to the arts culture of Floyd, so that people passing through town could see that Floyd is neat and artsy and a great place to stop.”  It seems like it’s working because just last week a whole bunch of tourists from Japan stopped to get their photos taken with the Giant.

Cameron, the Innkeeper, lives on site and is able to share lots of information about the county with guests.  “I love telling people about all the great things in Floyd,” said Cameron Woodruff.  “I especially like the history.”  Cameron has researched and learned lots about the county since moving here when he was 11 years old.  It was his love of history and storytelling that started him leading the Floyd Ghost Tours in October 2007, when he was 16 years old.  Cameron is looking forward to giving a tour of the Green Man Inn and showing off all his hard work.
