Floyd Contra Dance @ The JAX

Blue Ridge Country Dancers sponsor the second Saturday contra dance in Floyd. Contra dancing is easy relaxed fun, and though the figures are done with a partner, singles are always welcome. Contra dancing is suitable for all ages, in fact the original form of the dance, such as the Virginia Reel, was a popular U.S. folk tradition from about 1830-1890.

We will be dancing at the Jacksonville Center for the Arts, 1/2 mile from the stoplight in Floyd on Rt 8 South. They are delighted to have us. We will be dancing in the community room. It is large enough, has a wood floor, nice lighting and ambiance, handicapped access, newly paved parking lot, and did I mention they really want us there! The band featured at this event will be “David DiGiuseppe/George Paul & Emily Rush.”
