Floyd Contra Dance

Contra dance, an original American folk tradition, is easy relaxed fun with live music. The December contra dance band, Rhythmajig from the Charlottesville area, includes Walter Hojka on fiddle (and sometimes percussive feet), Jack Maus on piano, Patti Reum on flutes and whistles, and Dave Stone on guitar and mandolin. They play a lively mix of upbeat French-Canadian, Irish, and New England style music, with a few Southern tunes thrown in for fun.
