Old-time Music Workshops in Floyd, Virginia by Mac and Jenny Traynham.

The Floyd Country Store’s Handmade Music School has partnered with Southern Mountain Melodies and is offering a one day beginners workshop for fiddle, guitar, and banjo. The class takes place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Cost is $70.

Learn to play Blue Ridge-style dance music in a place where dancing to old ­time music has naturally occurred for generations, Floyd County, Virginia! Learn to play some of the tried and true mountain dance tunes in a rhythmic style that is full of tradition and excitement!
