Preventing Erosion On Steep Driveways

Are you tired of your driveway looking like the Grand Canyon after every major rainstorm? Have visitations from friends and family dropped off because of the ruts and gullies eroding your driveway? If so, then you could benefit from this no fee community workshop. Donations are accepted.

Leaf Myczack, retired Tennessee RiverKeeper and current watershed management instructor of The Broadened Horizons Teaching Farm, will host a workshop / Skill Share on Sunday, December 2, 10:30 am – 12 noon at the Broadened Horizons Teaching Farm, a permanent agriculture (perma-culture), organic-based demonstration farm.

Learn…

  • Why the “box scraper” is not a good driveway tool for anything but a slope-free driveway…something very uncommon in Floyd County;
  • How to “crown” your driveway surface;
  • How to properly install drainage ditches, water bars and distributary cutoffs;
  • How to keep your culverts open and free flowing.
  • And much, much more….
