Brought to the Appalachia from our Celtic roots, Imbolc is a time of reawakening. Celebrating the return of light, this season was filled with celebration and deep traditions. Candlemas, Birgrite, The Triple Goddess, Blessing of the Grains; our ancestors had many traditions to honor this time of year.
During this hands on workshop, Laurie will share her family’s traditions and bring to light many of those that have been long forgotten. We’ll explore the tradition of candles, the Triple Goddess and the season of the Maiden. Using Mullein Leaves we’ll create candles similar to those of the Mountain Granny, known as Hags Tapers, and explore ways we can incorporate this season in our own home.
