Cabin Fever @ Terry’s Fork/Morgan Wade Band, Spoon Fight, Hoppy Vaughn
June 18, 2016 : 11:00 am - 7:00 pmDonations
Cabin Fever is a memorial / fund raiser to benefit Saint Francis Service Dogs (SFSD) in Roanoke,Va. The event is held at 674 Cole’s Knob Road, Pilot, Va.
The entertainment will be coming right at you from the front porch stage of my cabin in a one of a kind setting over looking Terry’s Fork.
Live music starts at noon with the Morgan Wade Band. Morgan brings it, and will do a great job of kicking things off. We then will have Spoon Fight , another local band from Floyd, with an incredible amount of diversity and talent. Winding things up will be Hoppie Vaughan and the Ministers of Soul from Roanoke, Va. Hoppie plays the blues with the best of them, is multi talented, and has a strong following from the Roanoke area.
Floyd County Va. would not be Floyd County without some excellent string music. We will have special guests and good friends, Will and Jodie Norton playing mandolin and upright bass between sets as well as a after the show show for our enjoyment. WE make our money on t – shirt sales, barbecue sales at the event and most importantly donations.
Saint Francis Service dogs is a fabulous organization that has been providing service dogs at no charge to people in need of a service dog for twenty years. SFSD is a small organization that is currently providing around a dozen dogs per year. We can help directly with their growth. There is a long waiting list of people, mostly children right now, that are in need of a SFSD to increase the quality of their life and to ultimately make them much happier and independent than they were before being united with their K-9 companion.
This event is kid and dog friendly. This year, in memory of my sweet, beautiful Golden Retriever , Ellie Mae who died tragically way before her time, in March of this year, anyone who brings a dog will generate a $25 donation to SFSD.
T- shirts are a great deal at only $10 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve. Every cent generated from cabin fever goes directly to SFSD. I can assure you of that. The genorosity of others is what has made the growth of Cabin Fever so dramatic. This year, Cabin Fever 4 is being sponsored by Altec Industries, a company I am proud to be a part of. We will be 100% funding a scholarship to sponsor a dog this year and if we hit a home run , we can sponsor two dogs that will be graduating in March, 2017. Is that cool or what ? Come on and please help us continue to grow Cabin Fever so we can continue to help others in need enjoy the benefits, companionship, independence and love that comes with a SFSD.
