Subtitled, “How one furniture maker battled offshoring, stayed local—and helped save an American town,” the book explores the life of J.D. Bassett III and how he saved one of his family’s furniture-making plants, Vaughan-Bassett in Galax, VA; still thriving and employing 700 workers.
