5th Annual Shiner’s Revenge Mountain Bike event

The 5th Annual Shiner’s Revenge returns on August 20th, 2017 at the beautiful I.C. DeHart Memorial Park in Woolwine, Virginia. Proudly re-joining the Virginia Off Road Series the event always guarantees strong competition in every class. This year major changes are taking place!! The race will be an 60K XXC race. We will also host a XC race for Begginner and Sport Classes. The Experts/Pros and hardcore XXC riders will take on one of the best backcountry routes south of the Blue Ridge.
Recent trail construction has increased the lap distance to 15+/- miles per lap. The trail has changed for the better. Some of the best sections of trail have been recently constructed to add a new dimension to the existing trails. We look forward to showing off some of the best hand-built singletrack in Virginia.
Come test your skills against some of the top endurance riders in the east. The race will test even the toughest endurance racers. Please support one of the last grassroots races in the Southwestern part of Virginia.
The race will include multiple categories for XXC and XC disciplines. Signature trophies to each class and Cash payouts to all XXC classes (payout determined by participation), sweet swag to XC classes. Please save the date and visit us at this year’s Shiner’s Revenge XXC & XC.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The XXC route is on private property. The route is closed unless permission is granted by the property owners. Floydfest festival offers a guided tour of the route with team Moonstompers and individuals interested in a pre-ride are encouraged to join their event. The state roads, and dirt climb up Belcher Mountain is open to the public, riders are encouraged to view this mountain prior to the ride. Route maps are currently being produced, check back for the link to see the elevation profiles, and route details.
Cradled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains sits one of Virginia’s best kept secrets in XC mountain biking. Woolwine Trails at the I.C. Dehart Memorial Park is southwestern Virginia’s premier singletrack cross country course. Improving and expanding each year since 2009 the renovated race course is 15 +/- miles in length filled with every possible feature a true mountain bike trail should have. Awesome rock gardens, drops, screaming descents, mountains, creek crossings, and much more will challenge every rider regardless of skill. The course has hosted some of the largest races in the Commonwealth since 2009.
