Pick out a beautiful handmade bowl, enjoy a delicious meal, and support weekend meals for local students facing food insecurity.
Floyd Empty Bowls is back for its 15th year – a beloved annual fundraiser supporting the New River Community Action Floyd County Backpack Program, which provides over 3,000 weekend meals to local students each month who might otherwise go hungry. Since 2007, this program has delivered over 600,000 meals for children.
🌾 Each full priced meal ticket* includes:
✔️ A handcrafted ceramic bowl by local potters (yours to keep!)
✔️ Hearty soup, fresh bread, dessert & beverage (home made soup, bread, and dessert are made by volunteers)
✔️ Live local music and a warm community vibe
* No-bowl tickets are available for a lower price, disposable bowls for soup are provided for these tickets

The backpack program is 100% volunteer-run, with Floyd Rotary members assembling food packets every Wednesday. With program’s food costs currently around $650 a week, every ticket and every donation makes a difference.
