The Floyd Country Store is renowned as a place to experience authentic Appalachian music, dance, good food and local crafts right in downtown Floyd.

Since the Floyd Country Store opened for business in 1910 it has been at the heart of the Floyd Community. The store is one of the major venues along the Crooked Road Trail, South West Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, and takes the responsibility of nurturing and showcasing the traditional music of the region seriously.

The Friday Night Jamboree attracts visitors from all over the world to experience the joy of the the Appalachian traditions. Tickets to this event are $10 at the door, reserve tickets available online and instore $16, $7 for children, kids under 7 are free  and it is often standing room only. In addition to the Jamboree, the Store hosts musical events all weekend, including concerts, dances, jams and workshops. The Floyd Radioshow is where a musical and artistic community provides endless inspiration for the show, which appears live at the Floyd Country Store 4 times over the 2023-2024 season (October 7, December 2 and February 3 and April 6).

The passing on of traditional music and dancing is an important mission of the store, which is how our affiliated non-profit Handmade Music School was formed. The school offers private music lessons, group workshops, a spring music camp and special events.
