Floyd County Seed Swap

This year’s Floyd County Seed Swap will be held in the Community Room of the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library on Saturday, March 14 from 3 pm to 5 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Please pass this info along to anyone you know who might like to share seeds (especially you, Jane, please copy to Wild Gardeners!). We’re celebrating abundance so don’t be shy: bring ’em if you got ’em/ take ’em if you’ll plant ’em. Please mark seeds with variety, source (seed company or home-grown), and year saved, along with any characteristics you want folks to know about your seeds. There will be a limited number of seed envelopes available.

To make it easier for folks to find what they’re looking for, I like to organize seeds in the following categories: Roots, Fruits, Greens, Flowers, Herbs, and Cover Crops. This way you can look at all the cabbage seeds, for example, in one place when deciding which ones to take. There will be signs on the tables indicating where to put each type of seed.
