THE WORKSHOP
This workshop will focus on giving participants a hands-on experience cultivating a variety of mushrooms, including: Oysters, Reishi, Lion’s Mane and Shiitake.
We will cover the fundamentals of FUNgi, which will include a discussion of their biology and the crucial role they play in the balance of ecosystems.
Each workshop participant will gain knowledge and experience cultivating different species of mushrooms on various low-cost, accessible agricultural and forestry-based feedstocks – using low-tech cultivation methods.
Everyone will also take home their own GIY Mushroom block!

THE FARM DINNER
Following the workshop, Chef Ashton Carter will be crafting some amazing cuisine using a variety of seasonal produce from local farms to showcase the incredible bounty of this majestic Blue Ridge agricultural cornucopia! This dinner will feature Gnomestead Hollow’s gourmet mushrooms and delectable vegetable ferments, along with other amazing farm produce from community partners on the Blue Ridge Plateau.
