Queer* Yoga at Studio 221
September 24, 2019 : 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until October 29, 2019
This weekly class offers a safe, inclusive space for individuals who identify as LGBTQ2+ to connect with themselves and each other through the practice of yoga. Postures will both nurture and strengthen the body, providing a well-rounded experience that grounds us, fans our inner flame, and lifts our spirit.
No prior yoga experience is required. All bodies, ages, and identities are welcome. This class is offered on a sliding scale of $3-$15, and no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
Haley, RYT-200, has taught yoga to teens and adults for the past 3 years in Floyd County. She sees yoga as an opportunity both to practice the art of listening to the body speak and to care for it in a way that enhances the quality of life. Haley identifies as a queer woman, and her passion for supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ2+ community lies at the heart of this offering.
*The term “queer” has been reclaimed by the LGBTQ2+ community as an empowering and uniting title, which is how it is used here.
