The Handmade Music School is offering a Dobro workshop with Bill Adams. This workshop will introduce participants to playing the Dobro (or resophonic guitar). We will learn the basic chords in the open G tuning and some simple scales to get started on playing melodies. Left hand “bar technique” and right hand picking positions will be presented. Different chord “grips” will also be introduced. This workshop will be bluegrass oriented with some tips on playing background fill on the Dobro for supporting vocals. By the end of this session participants should be well on the way to playing a simple version of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”
(Players should have a bar, two metal finger picks, and a thumb pick. Recording devices are allowed.)
