“By Ear & By Heart” Exhibit

“By Ear & By Heart” packs a hundred years’ worth of stories, photos, and songs into a growing exhibit on music makers of Floyd County.

Learn about our singing school masters, banjo pickers, instrument makers, and the earliest recording artists. Hear recordings by Blind Alfred Reed, Elder Golden Harris, and the Floyd County Ramblers. Bluegrass Hall of Fame songwriter, Randall Hylton, is featured along with others known best in their own churches and neighborhoods. If you can’t visit us during Mountains of Music Homecoming week, we’ll be happy to share our musical roots with you Fridays and Saturdays through December 2016.
