A Life of Sorrow is a one-man play — with music — that pays homage to legendary Appalachian musician Carter Stanley.
With his brother, famed banjoist Ralph Stanley, he helped to lay the foundations for what is today known as bluegrass. He wrote the songs, he played the music, and he self-destructed. Gone from the music scene for nearly 50 years, his legacy his largely forgotten.
A Life of Sorrow gives today’s audiences a chance to connect with a bluegrass legend!
