Second Film in SustainFloyd’s Spring Film Serires……”The Messenger”
THE MESSENGER is an artful investigation into the causes of songbird mass depletion and the compassionate people who are working to turn the tide. The film takes viewers on a visually stunning journey revealing how the problems facing birds also pose daunting implications for our planet and ourselves.
Humans once believed that birds could carry messages, their presence was meaningful. They have helped predict the change of seasons, the coming of storms and the rise of toxins in the food chain. Once again they have something to tell us.
The 2017 SustainFloyd Spring Film Series will continue Thursday evening, April 20, at the Floyd Country Store with the screening of “The Messenger,” which looks at humanity’s deep connection to birds. The final film of the Series will be “Freightened,” an audacious investigation into the mechanics and perils of cargo shipping. “Freightened” will be shown on Thursday evening, May 18 at the Floyd Country Store. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish for a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. that will be followed by the film, at about 6:30 p.m.
