As Bayo Akomolafe says,
“The time are urgent—let us slow down.”
In this half-day yoga retreat, we will slow down and tune in to the deep wisdom that lives in our bodies. This embodied wisdom connects us to the long evolutionary journey of life here on Earth and reminds us that we belong here—that we are not, in the words of
David Whyte, “a troubled guest on this Earth”.
Engaging with the ancient practices of meditation, asana and chanting, we will practice staying grounded in the present moment as we build our capacity to tolerate discomfort and enjoy a felt sense of belonging. Dharma talk, group discussion, deep relaxation and inspiring soundtrack will add to our experience.
Our location is at the Alta Mons Retreat Center in Shawsville. Within hiking distance of the central grounds of the retreat center is the majestic Stiles Falls. Gift yourself with an immersion into the rejuvenative practices of yoga followed by a hike to the Falls!
Fulfill yourself beyond imagination!
(Hiking to the falls is not part of the yoga retreat, just if you would like to add this to your day.)
