Spring Tonic Herb Tincture Workshop

April 20 : 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

After the dormancy of winter, the spring bursts forth with an abundance of green.  Greens we can usually eat, tincture, or otherwise incorporate into our lives.  Spring greens or s’preens are loaded with vitamins, nutrients, and medicinal properties.  From wild salads, to tinctures and salves, we will discuss some of the most common spring tonic herbs and how to use them in your life!

Ed and Maya Skopal of I-TAL Acres will be leading a workshop which will involve identifying, learning about, and harvesting medicinal plants with a focus on greens. Workshop participants will make their own tincture (single herb or compound depending in the class and come away with the knowledge of how to make their own tinctures, salves, and infused oils.

About the instructors: Ed and Maya Skopal of I-TAL Acres are skilled herbalists and permaculturists. They operate a medicinal garden and apothecary at their farm in Floyd County, VA where they make a large array of tinctures, salves, and other products ( even hot sauce!).
