Floyd Dark Sky Viewing and Education Nights
Friday & Saturday, November 13–14, 2026 | 6 p.m.–Midnight each night, weather permitting.
Members of the Ashe Dark Sky Coalition, led by Cory Dalton and John Boston, will present two evenings of astronomy viewing and education. Visitors can explore the Moon, planets, star clusters, galaxies, and other celestial objects through high-quality telescopes and astronomical equipment. Coalition members will also discuss light pollution, its effects on human health, wildlife, and the environment, and the importance of preserving our dark skies.
The events are free and open to the public, with each evening offering a separate opportunity to participate. Attend one or both nights! Bring a camp chair and your own binoculars or telescope if available.
Weather permitting. For event updates and weather-related announcements, visit the Facebook event page, “Floyd Dark Sky Viewing & Education Nights,” or email FloydDarkSkyCoalition@gmail.com.
