The Floyd Country Store

This old-time country store features Appalachian music and dancing every weekend, a unique selection of merchandise, and great food at it's Jingle Tap Cafe counter.

Since The Floyd Country Store opened for business in 1910 it has been at the heart of the Floyd Community. These days it attracts locals and visitors alike to enjoy authentic Appalachian music and dancing every weekend, wonderful local food at the deli/food counter, and a variety of useful and quirky products, including casual country clothing, musical instruments, recorded music, books, toys and gifts.

The store is one of the seven major venues along the Crooked Road Trail, South West Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, and takes the responsibility of nurturing and showcasing the traditional music of the region seriously.

The Friday Night Jamboree attracts visitors from all over the world to experience the joy of the the Appalachian traditions. Tickets to this event are $5 at the door and it is usually standing room only. There is also music in the store on Saturday from noon to 3:00pm and Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Traditional Dancing is also part of the heritage of the store. We often include performances by clogging groups in our Friday Night events, and we can arrange dance classes for small groups in addition to our scheduled dance classes.
