Buffalo Mountain Brewery & McDaniel’s Tavern is open in Floyd!
Bill Bryant owner:
My Scots-Irish family has lived here in the Floyd area since the late 1700’s. I grew up in at the foot of Buffalo Mountain dairy and beef farming with my family but decided I needed to go see the world. So in 1990, I joined the Air Force and traveled the world. While traveling, I found my wonderful wife while stationed in Arkansas and we had two amazing boys.
The idea for Buffalo Mountain Brewing Company was conceived in 2012. We retired in 2014, moved home, and started the journey to open this brewery. We brew small batch beers here on premise in our 2BBL brewing system. We double batch each time, so 4BBL’s of beer goes into each fermentation tank. We’ll brew many different styles of beer as time progresses.
Some will be limited releases others will remain on tap or return periodically.
The name McDaniel’s Tavern is a tribute to my Scots-Irish 5th generation great grandfather, William McDaniel, who owned and operated McDaniel’s Tavern in Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. McDaniel’s Tavern will gradually expand our food offerings. Our goal is to eventually offer Irish, Scottish, and English tavern or pub food such as Shepard’s Pie, Fish and Chips, and Scotch Eggs.
We are grateful that you have come out to our brewery and tavern. We hope you enjoy your visit with us.
