Parade steps off at 2:00 PM\, heading north on Route 8\, turning right at the stoplight\, and ending on Route 615 (Barberry Rd).\nUSO-Style Canteen:Hosted by the Floyd County Woman’s Club\, featuring hot coffee\, apple cider\, and homemade baked goods.\nAwards & Prizes:Plaques for Most Patriotic and Best Decorated\, plus a Veterans-only prize drawing.\nYour participation keeps this important tradition alive — showing the next generation what service and gratitude look like in action.\nBoth the American Legion Auxiliary and the Orland Phillips VFW Auxiliary will be participating in the Parade. SUMMARY:Floyd Veterans Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of all the Floyd Veterans\, VFW Post # 7854 and American Legion Post 127\, we would like to invite you and your organization to join the Floyd Veterans Day Parade.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.  The tradition of honoring the men and women who have served honorably in the military during times of war and peace is very important.  Your participation in the parade helps to express this appreciation and to insure that this tradition is passed from generation to generation. \nThe Floyd County Woman’s Club will be hosting a USO type canteen.   The ladies will be providing hot coffee and hot apple cider.  They will also have home baked goods such as brownies\, cakes\, cookies\, etc. \nAssembly for the parade is 1:00 PM at the Mayberry Funeral home and starts at 2:00 PM.  It will proceed North on route 8\, then right at the stop light and end on route 615 (Barberry Rd). \nWe are looking forward to having all of you join us in celebrating Veterans Day.  There will be two plaques awarded to participants in the parade.  One for most patriotic and one for best decorated.  We will also have a drawing for all Veterans who participate in the parade to win a prize.  \nIf you need more information\, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me at any time. \nsirmac@swva.net  or 540-239-1478
