The old time jam session starts at 1:30 and is hosted by a different string band each week\, leading tunes at a moderate speed. Traditional instruments and dancers welcome! At 4:00 the bluegrass jam kicks off\, with hosts who lead the group in bluegrass songs and tunes. Song selections and solos pass around the circle. Sunday Music Jams are a great way to see traditional music the way it has been played and handed down for centuries\, amongst friends and family in a community setting.

That band featured his father\, Don Parmley\, and three Los Angeles musicians. In 1975 they made their way to the Washington DC area and began performing several nights a week for several years. David’s lead and baritone voice was the backbone to The Cardinal sound. Dozens of musicians have worked with David and Don over the years but “The Sound” remained constant. The Bluegrass Cardinals recorded dozens of projects during their 25 year run. The material is considered the finest to come out of the 70’s and 80’s bluegrass era. Jay Gladden and Matt Leonard join Bradley Carr\, Timbo Sims and John McBroom to continue the journey that Red Weather started in the early ‘90s. We look forward to more Homespun Psychedelic Fun!!!!!! \nSOME BAND HISTORY \nThree-fifths of the Freak Rangers come from a band named Red Weather; Bradley\, John and Timbo. Red Weather toured from 1993 to 1999 and released 3 projects before coming off the road and played occasionally till the passing of drummer Thomas Wilson in 2015. Since then the three have played together in a few other projects and sat-in a lot with each other’s more recent projects. \nOver the last decade they talked a lot about bringing Red Weather’s music back\, but life always seemed to lead to other opportunities. Well\, with a little coaxing and a lot of intent the three primary writers of Red Weather have reunited to play and see what happens. They are only able to undergo such a daring adventure with their new bandmates and rhythm section\, Jay Gladden and Matt Leonard.
