It takes its name from the musical notation system to aid in sight-singing where notes are written on the page with different shapes\, each corresponding to the degree of the scale. There are no concerts — we sing for the fun of singing! \nTunebooks we sing from are The Sacred Harp (1991/2025 Denson edition)\, The Shenandoah Harmony\, and The Valley Pocket Harmonist. Available for sale online and in the store. \nABOUT THE ONLIES\nThe Onlies are a young group of old friends who perform together in a stringband. They grew up playing fiddles\, guitars\, and banjos in their hometowns of Seattle\, WA and Lexington\, VA. With their latest self-titled recording\, the band digs deep into performances of traditional american popular (old time) music. The music moves with a pulsating drive\, sharp arrangements\, and rich vibration — it resounds with the present. \nThe Onlies are Sami Braman\, Riley Calcagno\, Vivian Leva\, Leo Shannon and Nokosee Fields. Their new release (THE ONLIES) is their fourth full-length record\, though it will be their first one as a quartet since joining with Leva in 2017. The band\, all still in their early twenties\, won first place at the Clifftop Appalachian Stringband Festival in 2017\, has toured the US extensively\, and has performed and collaborated with Bruce Molsky\, Elvis Costello\, Tatiana Hargreaves\, Foghorn Stringband\, The Bee Eaters\, John Herrmann & Meredith McIntosh\, and Darol Anger\, among others. The record is produced by Caleb Klauder (Foghorn Stringband\, Caleb Klauder Country Band)\, and features Nokosee Fields (Western Centuries\, Steam Machine) on bass. It is a committed engagement with the histories and futures of old time fiddle music.

Traditional instruments and dancers welcome! \nThe BLUEGRASS JAM takes place from 4:00 – 5:30 pm\, with hosts who lead the group in bluegrass songs and tunes. A $20 membership allows the bearer $7 admission into the Jamboree all year long\, paying for itself in just four visits. Must be purchased at the Floyd Country Store. \n\n\nReserved Seating Tickets\nWe are happy to offer a very limited number of reserved seats\, located in the center section starting from the second row through the fifth row (limited to 42 seats\, maximum eight tickets per order). Seating is assigned on a first-come\, first served basis\, per customer request and special needs. Please include helpful information in the notes section that will help us best accommodate your group. We will do our best to honor requests and seat your group together if possible. \nReserved tickets can be purchased online for $16 each. Since it is a reserved seat\, children using a seat are the same price as adults\, therefore\, ticket reservations need to made for them as well. There are no refunds or exchanges. We ask that you be in your seats by 6:30 pm or your reservation will be canceled.
