Bring your instrument and join in the music or grab some food and be our audience! \nTHE MUSIC STARTS AT 1:30pm and it is open to the public and free for everyone! \nSunday Music Jams are a great way to see traditional music the way it has been played and handed down for centuries\, amongst friends and family in a community setting. \nThe OLD TIME JAM session takes place from 1:30 – 3:30 pm in the area just in front of our stage and is hosted by a different string band each week\, leading tunes at a moderate speed. Traditional instruments and dancers welcome! \nThe BLUEGRASS JAM takes place from 4:00 – 5:30 pm\, with hosts who lead the group in bluegrass songs and tunes. Song selections and solos pass around the circle.

DESCRIPTION:A Haunted Tour Of The 9 Realms Of Norse Cosmology\nFridays & Saturdays 7 PM-10 PM in October…\n\nNight of the Draugrs takes bold adventurers on a journey through the 9 realms of Norse cosmology. The adventure begins in Midgard\, the mortal human realm. As travelers navigate deeper into the trail\, the atmosphere shifts. Guests must remain fully alert\, as wights (land spirits and nature entities including malevolent spirits bound to burial mounds and graves) and draugrs (undead warriors who fiercely guard their treasures and territories from the living) rise forth from the shadows\, visibly disturbed by human presence.\n\nThe journey grows even more epic as visitors weave between realms\, coming face-to-face with legendary\, larger-than-life characters. Brave souls will encounter Garmr\, the blood-stained guard dog of Hel; Surtr\, the fierce fire giant of Muspelheim; Nidhogg\, the malicious dragon that gnaws at the roots of the world tree in Niflheim; and towering\, imposing Frost Giants of Jötunheim.\n\nNight of the Draugrs is a roughly 20 minute walking tour at Vikingland Park in Copper Hill\, Virginia. This attraction is rated PG-13\, and while guests of all ages are welcome with adult supervision\, younger children may find parts of the attraction too scary.\n\nWe strive to be as ADA compliant as possible\, though this is an outdoor attraction\, and the nature of the terrain (rolling hills) and possible inclement weather may impede some of our guests. Tickets are $50 general admission\, $55 reserved seating\, $25 for Kids under 12 — available for sale online and in the store. \nFifty-three years into a legendary career\, much has changed about The Seldom Scene\, starting with the venerable progressive bluegrass quintet’s various lineup iterations over time. But even as band members have stepped in and out of various roles\, what’s most important is what hasn’t changed: an undeniable knack for blending both old and new music and traditions without sacrificing what makes either potent and durable. Their current iteration is a true blue lineup: guitarist mandolin player Lou Reid\, bassist Ronnie Simpkins\, banjoist and fiddler Ron Stewart\, dobro player Fred Travers\, and guitarist Clay Hess. \nSince they started up together in 1971\, The Seldom Scene has dexterously performed original and traditional songs while presenting fiery and soulful reinterpretations of material by Merle Haggard\, James Taylor\, and more. The concept of bluegrass unshackling itself from a conservative\, straight-ahead mindset seems like a given now\, when some of its biggest stars fill stadiums and cross over with mainstream audiences\, but the continued presence of the Scene acts as a reminder that it wasn’t always so. Even if their playing style feels more at home in intimate clubs\, where the audience can feel their exuberance radiating from the stage\, the Scene’s elastic relationship to genre established an important precedent that encouraged their contemporaries and allowed bluegrass bands to expand their repertoire in ways that laid the groundwork for today’s bluegrass boom. \nLong live The Seldom Scene.

The adventure begins in Midgard\, the mortal human realm. As travelers navigate deeper into the trail\, the atmosphere shifts. Guests must remain fully alert\, as wights (land spirits and nature entities including malevolent spirits bound to burial mounds and graves) and draugrs (undead warriors who fiercely guard their treasures and territories from the living) rise forth from the shadows\, visibly disturbed by human presence.\n\nThe journey grows even more epic as visitors weave between realms\, coming face-to-face with legendary\, larger-than-life characters. Brave souls will encounter Garmr\, the blood-stained guard dog of Hel; Surtr\, the fierce fire giant of Muspelheim; Nidhogg\, the malicious dragon that gnaws at the roots of the world tree in Niflheim; and towering\, imposing Frost Giants of Jötunheim.\n\nNight of the Draugrs is a roughly 20 minute walking tour at Vikingland Park in Copper Hill\, Virginia. This attraction is rated PG-13\, and while guests of all ages are welcome with adult supervision\, younger children may find parts of the attraction too scary.\n\nWe strive to be as ADA compliant as possible\, though this is an outdoor attraction\, and the nature of the terrain (rolling hills) and possible inclement weather may impede some of our guests. A $20 membership allows the bearer $7 admission into the Jamboree all year long\, paying for itself in just four visits. Must be purchased at the Floyd Country Store. \n\n\nReserved Seating Tickets\nWe are happy to offer a very limited number of reserved seats\, located in the center section starting from the second row through the fifth row (limited to 42 seats\, maximum eight tickets per order). Seating is assigned on a first-come\, first served basis\, per customer request and special needs. Please include helpful information in the notes section that will help us best accommodate your group. We will do our best to honor requests and seat your group together if possible. \nReserved tickets can be purchased online for $16 each.
