SUMMARY:Fireside Collective
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the burgeoning art scene\, close knit community\, and natural beauty of Asheville\, North Carolina\, newgrass turned eclectic jam band Fireside Collective has spent a decade working towards this very pinnacle. Original band members Joe Cicero\, guitar\, Jesse Iaquinto\, mandolin\, Tommy Maher\, resonator guitar\, and Carson White\, bass\, began playing together in 2014 when Iaquinto gathered the group of bluegrass enthusiasts to back up some of his original songwriting. \nWhen they began touring again after covid\, Fireside drew inspiration from jam bands like The Grateful Dead\, the group’s agreed upon North Star. There was significantly more improvisation\, changing setlists from night to night\, and longer musical movements. With the introduction of Michael Tillis on drums in late 2023\, the sound expanded to include heavy funk elements as well as classic rock and even ventured into techno and world music. By the end of 2024\, Fireside Collective had become a true hybrid\, with a strong foundation in bluegrass and folk\, and healthy doses of rock n’ roll and funk\, all blended together in a unique and colorful amalgam of original music. \n$20 presale $25 day of show.

Tickets are $28 general admission\, $32 reserved seating\, $14 for Kids under 12 — available for sale online and in the store. \nJerron Paxton and Dennis Lichtman are world-renowned multi-instrumentalists and vocalists whose mutual love of the history\, stories\, and significance behind the music they play is apparent as they romp through an energetic and engaging set of acoustic blues\, ragtime\, Tin Pan Alley pop songs\, 1920s jazz\, twin fiddle hoe-downs\, and original songs and compositions. The duo were artists-in-residence at Symphony Space in New York City for the 2024-25 season and recently released their first full-length duo recording\, Jerron Paxton & Dennis Lichtman. As a soloist\, Paxton is a Smithsonian Folkways recording artist\, mainstay of the international blues festival circuit\, and former artistic director of the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival. Lichtman is a master of the clarinet\, mandolin\, and fiddle whose performance and recording credits include David Byrne\, Pokey LaFarge\, HBO’s Succession and The Plot Against America\, Jim Kweskin\, and his own solo projects.

Bring your instrument and join in the music or grab some food and be our audience! \nTHE MUSIC STARTS AT 1:30pm and it is open to the public and free for everyone! \nSunday Music Jams are a great way to see traditional music the way it has been played and handed down for centuries\, amongst friends and family in a community setting. \nThe OLD TIME JAM session takes place from 1:30 – 3:30 pm in the area just in front of our stage and is hosted by a different string band each week\, leading tunes at a moderate speed. Traditional instruments and dancers welcome! \nThe BLUEGRASS JAM takes place from 4:00 – 5:30 pm\, with hosts who lead the group in bluegrass songs and tunes. Song selections and solos pass around the circle.
