DESCRIPTION:Henry Hardt’s Mudcats are Jeff Liverman\, Jeremia Dwier\, Barb Gillespie\, Ray Braley and Will Norton. The band sings and plays Piedmont and old time street blues\, reveling in music penned earlier in the 20th century\, from Charlie Pool to Muddy Water to Robert Johnson and the Mississippi Sheiks. The Mudcat’s specialize in illuminating the influence that old style street music including blues and jug band sounds had on modern Rock and Roll. They play songs made popular by such artists as Rolling Stones\, Bob Dylan\, Nirvanas and Eric Clapton but they play in the style of the original recordings from the 1920s and 30s. Henry Hardt’s Mudcats are a fun\, danceable look back at some of the most influential music of the last three generations.

The adventure begins in Midgard\, the mortal human realm. As travelers navigate deeper into the trail\, the atmosphere shifts. Guests must remain fully alert\, as wights (land spirits and nature entities including malevolent spirits bound to burial mounds and graves) and draugrs (undead warriors who fiercely guard their treasures and territories from the living) rise forth from the shadows\, visibly disturbed by human presence.\n\nThe journey grows even more epic as visitors weave between realms\, coming face-to-face with legendary\, larger-than-life characters. Brave souls will encounter Garmr\, the blood-stained guard dog of Hel; Surtr\, the fierce fire giant of Muspelheim; Nidhogg\, the malicious dragon that gnaws at the roots of the world tree in Niflheim; and towering\, imposing Frost Giants of Jötunheim.\n\nNight of the Draugrs is a roughly 20 minute walking tour at Vikingland Park in Copper Hill\, Virginia. This attraction is rated PG-13\, and while guests of all ages are welcome with adult supervision\, younger children may find parts of the attraction too scary.\n\nWe strive to be as ADA compliant as possible\, though this is an outdoor attraction\, and the nature of the terrain (rolling hills) and possible inclement weather may impede some of our guests. Join us every third Saturday from June through October from 9 AM to 2 PM for a mix of local vendors\, handcrafted goods\, and live music. \nLocated on Jacksonville Circle between the Floyd County Courthouse and the Floyd Administrative Building\, the market offers a chance to shop local\, connect with makers\, and enjoy a morning in town. \nMarket Dates:\n– June 20th\n– July 18th\n– August 15th\n– September 19th\n– October 17th \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInterested in becoming a vendor? We welcome local makers\, artists\, and producers to be part of the Floyd Makers Market. Formed in the Smoky Mountains\, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are at once exactly what you would expect and not at all what you would expect from a tattooed East Tennessee Bluegrass outfit. No strangers to hard work\, the boys are as much at home riding in their 1965 GM Tour bus as they are crawling underneath to fix it when it needs maintenance. But they take pride in being ambassadors of their genre\, and the group has brought their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs of Europe\, with stunning results.

DESCRIPTION:A Haunted Tour Of The 9 Realms Of Norse Cosmology\nFridays & Saturdays 7 PM-10 PM in October…\n\nNight of the Draugrs takes bold adventurers on a journey through the 9 realms of Norse cosmology. The adventure begins in Midgard\, the mortal human realm. As travelers navigate deeper into the trail\, the atmosphere shifts. Guests must remain fully alert\, as wights (land spirits and nature entities including malevolent spirits bound to burial mounds and graves) and draugrs (undead warriors who fiercely guard their treasures and territories from the living) rise forth from the shadows\, visibly disturbed by human presence.\n\nThe journey grows even more epic as visitors weave between realms\, coming face-to-face with legendary\, larger-than-life characters. Brave souls will encounter Garmr\, the blood-stained guard dog of Hel; Surtr\, the fierce fire giant of Muspelheim; Nidhogg\, the malicious dragon that gnaws at the roots of the world tree in Niflheim; and towering\, imposing Frost Giants of Jötunheim.\n\nNight of the Draugrs is a roughly 20 minute walking tour at Vikingland Park in Copper Hill\, Virginia. This attraction is rated PG-13\, and while guests of all ages are welcome with adult supervision\, younger children may find parts of the attraction too scary.\n\nWe strive to be as ADA compliant as possible\, though this is an outdoor attraction\, and the nature of the terrain (rolling hills) and possible inclement weather may impede some of our guests. Traditional instruments and dancers welcome! \nThe BLUEGRASS JAM takes place from 4:00 – 5:30 pm\, with hosts who lead the group in bluegrass songs and tunes. Song selections and solos pass around the circle.
