Since 2007\, this program has delivered over 600\,000 meals for children. \n🌾 Each full priced meal ticket* includes:\n✔️ A handcrafted ceramic bowl by local potters (yours to keep!)\n✔️ Hearty soup\, fresh bread\, dessert & beverage (home made soup\, bread\, and dessert are made by volunteers)\n✔️ Live local music and a warm community vibe\n* No-bowl tickets are available for a lower price\, disposable bowls for soup are provided for these tickets \nFor ticket prices and to purchase tickets online\, please visit the “Floyd Empty Bowls” Facebook page or use the link provided in this listing.\nThe backpack program is 100% volunteer-run\, with Floyd Rotary members assembling food packets every Wednesday. DESCRIPTION:Come sing with us! \nShape note is an American tradition of unaccompanied harmony singing with roots that stretch back into the Colonial period. It takes its name from the musical notation system to aid in sight-singing where notes are written on the page with different shapes\, each corresponding to the degree of the scale. There are no concerts — we sing for the fun of singing! \nTunebooks we sing from are The Sacred Harp (1991/2025 Denson edition)\, The Shenandoah Harmony\, and The Valley Pocket Harmonist. Loaner books are available. All are welcome! No experience with sheet music or singing necessary!
